Azerbaijan in Middle of Food Security List
Azerbaijan took the 57th place among 113 countries in the Global Food Security Index.
According to the international organization The Economist Intelligence Unit, Azerbaijan scored 57.1 points out of a maximum 100, as much as Egypt and Vietnam gained. Among the post-Soviet countries (except the Baltics) the leader is Belarus (46th place), Russia is No 48, Ukraine is No 63, Uzbekistan is No 72, and the rest were not included in the rating list for one reason or another.
In the first place is the United States followed by Ireland, Singapore, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Canada, Great Britain and Sweden. Completing the table are African countries such as Mozambique and Sierra Leone.
According to the organization, today the world's 800 million people are malnourished. --17D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
