Azerbaijan Increased Exports of Copper Ores and Concentrates
In the first nine months of this year Azerbaijan put abroad 8,114.5 tons of copper ore and concentrates, which is 3.1 times more than in the comparable period of 2015..
According to the State Customs Committee, in the third quarter of this year it exported about 3,000 tons of copper ore. All shipments accounted for Georgia.
The copper ore exports generated $ 10 million 280 thousand, 2.4 times more than in 2015.
In addition, for the first 9 months of 2016 Azerbaijan exported abroad 5,767 tons of unprocessed and primarily processed copper. Total revenue was $ 12 million 245 thousand.
The State Statistics Committee reported on the production of a much smaller volume of copper ores and concentrates – 1,595.1 tons in the 10 months of 2016. The volume of production in comparison with the same period last year was 2.3 times less.
The enterprises of the country for 10 months of this year produced 4,057.7 tons of copper cable and wire, 36% more than in 2015.
Copper in the Kedabek region is produced by the Azeri mining operating company created by the American company RV Investment Services Group LLC for the operation of six gold deposits.
From September this year, the government has introduced a customs duty of 10% of the customs value of copper anodes, cathodes and alloys, but not less than $ 300 per 1 ton. ----08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
