Azerbaijan Salt Falls Twice
Azerbaijan increased export volume of food iodized salt 5.6 times. At the same time revenues from sales abroad increased only three times.
According to the State Customs Committee (SCC), the volume of exports of edible salt for the first three quarters of this year amounted to 8 114.5 toes. Azerbaijan salt is consumed, as in the previous three years, in Georgia. A ton of the product was sold at a price of $ 76.95. In the first nine months of 2015 the salt was supplied to Georgia at an average price of $ 141.9.
According to the SCC data, in January-September the volume of imports of edible salt increased by 22.7% and amounted to 10,246 tons. Salt is bought abroad at the price of $ 120.3 / ton, $ 2 less than in 2015.
In retail sale, salt costs from AZN 0.60 to AZN 1, or $ 0.33 - 0.55 per kg.
According to the State Statistics Committee, over the ten months of this year the volume of production of edible iodized salt was 49,300 tons, 76.3% more than in the same period last year. Besides Azersun Holding LLC, engaged in the production of salt is Nakhcivan Duz Istehsali and an individual (Tehran Rashidov).
According to the food balance in 2015, Azerbaijan consumed 37,000 tons of edible salt, 1.5 thousand tons more than in the previous year. One-third of the consumption was met by imports (13,600 tons). ------08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
