Azerbaijan Receives National Yogurt
On the shelves of local stores, a new national brand of yogurt Milla appeared, marked with aggressive behavior and pretending the role of "first violin" in the yogurt market in Azerbaijan.
Today in grocery stores rarely seen are the familiar brands of yogurt as Danone and Chudo (Miracle). Instead of the "disappeared" popular brands wholesalers offer the yogurt Milla, which has filled the shelves.
The yogurt Milla is manufactured by AZFP Co. Ltd in the Binagadi district of the capital. This company is reportedly owned by the family of the oligarch Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister for Emergency Situations, under the operational control of who the country's customs service also is.
The Director of LLC Danone Sinan Tuv recognized that the company recently had customs problems with import of its yogurt, but what the problem was, the customs did not explain. The issue was solved, and the imports are to resume in the coming days, said the functionary of Danone.
It is noteworthy that the company Atena has never begun production of this product in the Agjabedi dairy plant. With the commissioning of this plant three years ago, they claimed that the production of yogurt would start "in the coming months."
In 2011, Azerbaijan imported 2,408 tons of yogurt at a total declared value of $ 1,976,400. - 08B-
