Azerbaijani oil transited to Israel through Turkey, said Turkish Energy Minister
Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that Turkey does not deliver oil and aviation fuel to Israel as some Turkish media reported, World Bulletin reported.
“Israel’s occupation of Gaza is a serious obstacle for implementation of joint energy projects on the east of the Mediterranean,” said Minister.
Yildiz also confirmed that oil is transited to Israel via Turkey. Azerbaijani oil is transported to the Ceyhan port via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and from there transported to Israel in tankers.
BTC started to work in June 2006. Since that day Azerbaijani oil is sold by various traders from the Ceyhan terminal. Last year Israel’s officials said that Israel’s demand in crude oil totals about 6.5 million tons a year, of which about 3 million tons of oil is covered at the expense of Azerbaijani oil.—0--

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
