Bakcell Network Ready to Service Delivery MNP
A local mobile operator and provider of mobile Internet, Bakcell announced its readiness for the introduction of mobile number portability (MNP). The launch date of the system depends on the decision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
All preparations were carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry. "We are ready to start the process right now, but still we have to wait for the availability of other operators, because the process must be initiated by all operators at a time," says CEO of Bakcell Richard Shearer.
According to him, Bakcell started to prepare for the implementation of MNP in January of this year. The first step in this direction was the introduction of the new 10-digit dialing system within the network, with the addition of the prefix 055 before every number. In the development of the innovation, with all the recommendations and requirements of the ministry, there was invested a lot of time and money.
According to the Director, from a technical point of view the systems are ready and have passed all internal testing. Bakcell is confident that the introduction of MNP will increase competition in the local mobile communications market, and does everything you need for this project. In giving consumers a choice there is a significant prospect for winning the corporate segment, as well as national business market segment.
"Today, revenue and profit of Bakcell come primarily from the consumer market, and we see significant opportunities for working with large international corporations and large national companies of Azerbaijan, for whatever reasons, using the services of our competitors. I think that the trust we have earned in the consumer market, will allow us to gain a foothold in these segments," added Shearer.
MNP is the ability to change the mobile service provider without having to change the phone number. After the introduction of number portability, consumers will be able to move from one mobile operator to another without changing their mobile number.
Through 257 retail outlets and seven customer care centers working round the clock, Bakcell offers its customers the highest quality of service, the press release said.
