Baku discusses issues of road transport on the "Silk Road"
On October 30, the Ministry of Transport held a meeting at which they discussed with representatives of the International Road Transport Union (İRU) the results of monitoring of the Azerbaijan section of the motorway Model Project (MAP).
The information spread today by the Ministry of Transport noted that the monitoring was carried out by representatives of "Egnatia ODOS SA" (Greece). This company fulfils the functions of Technical Secretariat of the Black Sea Ring Highway. Not only the condition of roads in the Azerbaijan section of the "Silk Road", but also a roadside support infrastructure, border crossing procedures, etc. were assessed. The details of the monitoring are not reported.
The IRU initiated the implementation of the MAP on the Baku-Tbilisi-Batumi-Trabzon. His goal is to create a more effective and safer conditions for the development of road transport along the corridor TransEvropa-Caucasus-Asia. --08D—
