Baku International Airport Handled Record Number of Passengers
Heydar Aliyev International Airport in 2016 served 3 million 260 thousand passengers, which is a record in the history of civil aviation of Azerbaijan.
In 2016, there were flights of 28 passenger airlines, including the national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), to Azerbaijan's capital, which accounted for 51.3% of the passengers traveling abroad. It is reported by the press service of Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The main flow of passengers (83.5%) accounted for international traffic.
The five top foreign airlines included Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Fly Dubai and Qatar Airways.
Istanbul, Moscow, Dubai and Kiev topped the list of most popular international destinations: passenger traffic to these cities was 1.37 million people last year.
In 2016, Iraqi Airways, Fly Baghdad, ATA Airlines, Air Cairo, Komiaviatrans and the Russian low-cost airline Pobeda began to fly to Baku.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
