CBA noted that the country has a bank with combined capital less than 3.5 million manat
The total capital of four of the 44 banks in Azerbaijan on the basis of June 2012 did not meet the minimum requirement of 10 million manat.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), in the reported month, with a total capital in the range 5-10 million manat there were two banks, and their share in the total capitalization of the banking system equaled 0.8%. Only one bank's capital was in the range 3.5-5 million manat. For the first time in the last 22 months, the central bank noted the presence in the country of a bank with a capital of less than 3.5 million manat.
The number of banks with a combined capital of more than 10 million manat decreased 2 units to 40 in June. Their share in the total capital is equal to 99%.
The minimum requirement for the size of the total capital of banks has been 10 million manat since July 2007. According to the recent decision of the CBA, on January 1, 2014 this figure will reach 50 million manat. -15B -
