Customs Officials of Azerbaijan and Russia to Discuss Problems with Transport of Goods
Tomorrow, 26 November, at the customs checkpoint Samur the Khachmaz Customs Administration held a working meeting of representatives of customs services of Azerbaijan and Russia to discuss the urgent problems recently faced by exporters of Azerbaijani agricultural products.
As the press service of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan said, the meeting will discuss problems emerging at the checkpoint between the two countries, and the ways to improve operations.
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan has received instructions from the government to speed up the customs control and clearance of agricultural products exported northwards.
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan reports that the problem of the low permeability of trucks from the customs point in the direction of the Russian Federation is due to its activities, not to the situation that has arisen as a result of the changes of road tax proposed by the Russian government. Car companies and private carriers are protesting against these plans, therefore they stopped work in the territory of the Republic of Dagestan. Currently, about 200 wagons loaded with agricultural products of Azerbaijan are waiting at the Derbent station.
In connection with the problem, the SCC informed the government of Azerbaijan.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, for the first 9 months of 2015, Azerbaijan exported 152.2 thousand tons of agricultural products to Russia, including tea, totaling $ 131.4 million. --08D--
