Trial on Rauf Mirkadyrov to Continue December 2
At today's trial Baku Court of Grave Crimes on the case of journalist Rauf Mirkadyrov heard four prosecution witnesses.
Recall that the trial is held behind closed doors and the lawyer and the witnesses were obliged to pledge non-disclosure.
The lawyer Agayev briefly told reporters that today the testimony of witnesses was heard and the defense had no requests.
He also noted that the application for Mirkadyrov’s release from the glass cell was not satisfied. However, there were not obstacles to his confidential communication with his client.
Asked about the state of health and mood of the journalist, his lawyer said that today he looked "good," though much thinner.
The journalist’s mother Rafiga Mirkadyrova in turn noted that before his arrest her son never complained about his health. However, for the period of his arrest he had problems with his vision and blood pressure.
The next meeting is scheduled for December 2.
Recall that the journalist was arrested on April 19 in Baku immediately after the deportation from Turkey. He was charged under Article 274 of the Criminal Code (high treason). The journalist denies the charges. Human rights advocates acknowledge Mirkadyrov a political prisoner. -6D-
