Dubai Port World to Provide Consulting Services at Alat Port
The world's largest port operator Dubai Port World will provide consulting services for the creation of a free trade zone in the Alat settlement.
This agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Niyazi Safarov, the General Director of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, Taleh Ziyadov and the President of DP World Group, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
The Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at the signing ceremony DP World is the operator of the largest container port and the company owns 77 ports in 40 countries.
‘Until the end of the year 2 berths will be built in the port. In general, it is planned to construct 11 berths,’ Mustafayev said.
The President of DP World Group, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, in turn, said that Azerbaijan has everything it needs to become a focal point of Eurasia.
‘We believe that you have the necessary components and high technology resources. And we have the experience. By combining all this, we can turn it to a single strong commercial structure.’
Recall that on March 17, 2016, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on measures to build a special economic zone such as a free trade zone in the Alat settlement of the Garadagh district of Baku, including the territory of the new Baku International Sea Trade Port. -----71D
