Exchange Currency Turnover Fell in October by 20.3 %
The volume of trading in the currency section of the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) in October 2013 was $ 19,249 million and 24,540 million manat.
This is a 20.3 % decrease compared to the previous month and three times - compared with October 2012.
The average volume of each transaction in e-trading system on USD / AZN reached in October of the current year $ 2,454 million, the average daily turnover - $ 1.227 million.
Just BBVB auction in October 2013 was attended by seven banks. In the reported month, the BEST held 40 trading sessions and recorded 10 transactions.
Exchange currency turnover in the first ten months of this year amounted to the equivalent of 373.822 million manat, which is 39 % less than in the comparable period last year.
The exchange rate of the national currency in the reporting month remained unchanged at 0.7835 per 1 USD. The average rate of the U.S. dollar against the manat in October was 0.7844 AZN for 1 USD, while in September it was equal to 0.7843 AZN.
The monthly average interest rate calculated on the basis of banks' applications market makers in BakIBOR loans for up to 90 days in October 2013 was 10.20 % in manats and 10.47 % in U.S. dollars. The interest rate on BakIBID up to 90 days was 4.83 % per annum in local and 4.62 % in U.S. dollars. - 15D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
