Türkiye Imports Record Amount of Oil from Russia in 2024
Oil supplies from Russia to Türkiye returned to growth in 2024, reaching a new record, according to data from the analytics company Kpler. Russian oil exports to Türkiye increased by 36% last year, reaching 323,000 barrels per day (bpd). The previous record was set in 2022 at 254,000 bpd, but in 2023, exports dropped by 6%, falling to 237,000 bpd.
Additionally, in June 2024, a new all-time monthly record for Russian oil exports to the Turkish market was set, with exports reaching 449,000 bpd, according to Kpler data.
According to official Turkish statistics, from January to November 2024, the volume of Russian oil imports amounted to 15.4 million tons.
