Foreign Currency Trade Fell by Almost 20 Percent in June
Turnover of non-cash foreign exchange transactions in September 2012 amounted to the equivalent of 2,676 million AZN ($ 3.41 billion), a decrease of 19.3% on the month. In only 6 months of this year foreign exchange turnover stood at 18.32 billion manats. Compared to the same period last year, it increased 20.4%.
The volume of cash transactions in U.S. dollars in June was $ 939.6 million, which is $ 49.4 million, or 5% less than in May. During the reporting month sales of the currency declined by 2.1%, purchases - by 6.2%. Compared to the same period in 2012, January-June this year, the total turnover of cash exchange operations with U.S. currency rose to $ 172 million, or 3%, to $ 5,968 million
The volume of cash transactions euros for six months in 2013 amounted to 1,961 million (unit of the relevant currency), which is twice more than the same period last year. The volume of purchases of the currency rose in June by 24% to 31.5 million
The total turnover of cash exchange operations in January-June this year, with the Russian ruble and the British pound was equal to 7,490 million, respectively, and 27.8 million
