Georgia to start petrol import from Turkmenistan
Georgian intends to deliver cheaper fuel from Turkmenistan and reduce prices at the local market, Kakha Kaladze, Georgian Energy Minister, told journalists.
He said fuel will be delivered from Turkmenistan to Georgia via Azerbaijan.
“We have already received Azerbaijan’s consent to empty the transit corridor for our cargo, which is going to happen in the near future,” Minister said.
He said the talks with Turkmenistan are coming to the end. “As soon as the new market of deliveries is opened, we will feel freedom of the market and it is not excluded that fuel prices will go down.” Kaladze said.—0--

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
