How many drilling rigs are there in the world?
In January 2014 number of the oil and gas drilling rigs operating in the world increased to the maximum level since February 2013.
The US Baker Hughes service company reported that last month there were 2598 drilling rigs in the world, up 120 against December and up 59 against January 2013.
During last month number of drilling rigs in the US decreased by 2 against December to 1769, because of cold weather. Their number increased by 132 in Canada and totaled 504. Thus, over 63% of the operating drilling rigs fall to North America.
In January 2014 number of drilling rigs in Europe did not change – 126.
Their number dropped by 2 on Near East (to 403), and by 16 in Latin America (to 401). Number of drilling rigs increased by 7 in the Asian and Pacific region (up to 256).
Africa will have one drilling rig more and their number reached 139. The record since early 2006 has been updated.—0--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
