Hydrocarbons Account for about 93% of Azerbaijan"s Export
Due to the oil and gas sector Azerbaijan once again provided a positive balance in foreign trade. In January-October, it made $ 11 833 081 770 (+ 7.1% against November 1 of the previous year).
According to the State Customs Committee (SCC), the total volume of foreign trade partners totaled $ 26,556,794,810 (minus 7.78%). The share of exports was $ 19,194,938,290 (minus 3.65%), and the imports were $ 7,361,856,520 (minus 17.06%).
With crude oil (84.89%), oil derivatives (6.17%) and natural gas (1.34%), the export component of hydrocarbons is 92.4%, indicating the disinterest of the government in real diversification of the economy - such weighty economic dependence on oil remains with the start of oil and gas projects, growing from year to year. For horticultural exports there is 1.13%, sugar - 1.01%, oils of vegetable or animal origin - 0.84%, plastics and articles thereof - 0.68%, aluminum and articles thereof - 0.37%. Other positions are significantly behind these indicators.
In the structure of imports leading is oil equipment, machines, mechanisms, electrical devices, equipment and spare parts - 27,95%, followed by food - 11.45%, ferrous metals and articles thereof - 10.5%. Freight and spare parts accounted 8.65%, tobacco and tobacco products - 4.44%, and plastics products (2.69%), pharmaceutical products - 2.59%, wood and wood products - 1.47 %, cement - 1.31%, vehicles and their parts, and furniture - 1.17%. Others are insignificant.
In foreign trade from January to November there were 3489 involved public and private enterprises, as well as 2177 individuals of the country with partners from 146 countries.
Among the recipients the leaders are Italy (22.78% of total exports), Indonesia (10.14%), Germany (8.91%), Israel (7.49%) and France (7.18%).
Among the suppliers in the first place is Russia (14.1%), then there are Turkey (14.08%), the UK (11.35%), Germany (7.49%) and China (7.19%). --17D-
