In Azerbaijan, about 120,100 families in need of public assistance
By July 1 of this year targeted social assistance in the amount of 120 manats per month was issued to 120,904 families that affected 531,885 people. This was reported in the August 6 meeting of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, which was devoted to the first half of the year.
Sum of the means-tested assistance to low-income families, compared to 30 manats in 2006, up 3.1 times in 6 years, has reached the level of 93 manats.
Minister Fizuli Alekperov also said that the program of self-development, which was launched two years ago with the aim of social rehabilitation and decoupling needy families on government assistance, yielding positive results. In 13 districts out of 271 families on 111 families the program was completed and the monitoring carried out in the first half of this year, showing the dynamics of permanent income growth in most families.
As a result of active measures on the part of the State Employment Service of the Ministry, within 6 months of this year, 13,777 people were provided with suitable work, 1 887 people were involved in the training courses. By results of job fairs 1918 people were on temporary work areas.
During this period, as a result of state control in 4423 facilities Activities were carried out in connection with the identified 8,054 cases of wrongdoing. The legalization of 5,096 workers by employment contracts was provided. - 08D-
