According to the "El" Movement, the detention was a response of the executive power to the appeal to hold on August 2 a meeting of the initiative group in the region.
Sovdagar Mursaguliev appealed to the local authorities to hold this meeting. However, he received no answer.
Instead, early morning police came to Mursaguliev's house, and took him along with seven-year-old grandson. Becaus there were no one to leave the child with, he was put into a police car and taken to the police station.
Mursaguliev was interrogated for more than three hours, and the child remained in police.
"In connection with the admitted offense we're going to go to the prosecutor's office," said Telman Gahramanli. According to him, pressure was made on Mursaguliev in police, and he was asked why he went to the executive power with request to hold a meeting of the opposition.
