In the first half of the year, industrial zones exported products worth 447 million manats
From 2015 to the first half of 2024, Azerbaijan's industrial zones produced goods worth 13.5 billion manats ($7.9 billion), with 4.4 billion manats ($2.6 billion) exported, according to the Ministry of Economy. In the first half of this year, sales in these zones reached 1.4 billion manats, with 477 million manats exported. Products from these zones were shipped to over 70 countries worldwide.
Efforts to attract entrepreneurs, draw investments, and create jobs in industrial zones are underway. Since 2013, 151 businesses have received resident status in these zones, with total investments amounting to 8.04 billion manats. Entrepreneurs have invested over 6.8 billion manats, creating more than 10,500 permanent jobs. Future projects are set to inject approximately 1 billion manats and generate over 7,100 new jobs.
Azerbaijan hosts eight industrial parks, five industrial districts, and 24 agro-parks. Since 2005, the industry has attracted investments totaling $71.7 billion, with $38.8 billion from foreign investors. Industrial companies have invested about $276.5 million in technological innovations over the same period, integrating advanced technologies and business innovations across various sectors.
These industrial zones are vital to Azerbaijan's economy. Resident companies benefit from extensive tax and customs incentives, including exemptions from profit tax, land tax, property tax, VAT, and customs duties on imported machinery and technological equipment for ten years.
Additionally, investors operating in areas liberated from Armenian occupation receive extra incentives to support their enterprises.
