Industrial Production Fell by 1 Billion Manat
In January of this year the volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.8 billion manat that is 1 billion manat less than a year earlier. At the same time, the production of goods and industrial services increased in real terms by 1.4%, the State Statistics Committee of the country reported.
Last month 3.7 million tons of crude oil and 1.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, which is respectively 0.1 million tons and 0.2 billion m3 more than in January 2014.
Due to the reduction in revenue from the sale of oil and gas resources, the share of the mining industry fell to 58.1% in the structure of industrial production, while in January last year it was 72.7% of the industrial sector. Accordingly, the share of processing industry grew from 19.7 to 30.2%.
This trend has also led to changes in the indexes of industrial production in their own division. In January 2014 the share of the public sector in the industry of Azerbaijan was about 18%, while this year the figure has reached 28.5%. ----08D
