Investment in fixed assets grew by 28%
In 2012, investment in construction activity in Azerbaijan amounted to 15.3 billion manat, which is 18% higher than for 2011. The announcement was issued by the State statistics Committee.
The share of domestic sources in financing the construction industry in 2012 amounted to 78.8%. In this case, the public sector, including the state budget, has 59.3% of investments.
Last year was commissioned housing a total area of ??1 757 thousand square meters.
For the year were put into operation a few hotels (Gafgaz Baku City Hotel and Residences, JW Marriott Absheron, Four Seasons, Shaki Palace, Zirve, Gaya, Ayan Palace), sports facilities (Baku Crystal Hall, and the Olympic Complexes in Astara and Jalilabad) chess schools, small hydro power plants, industrial plants. According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2012, was built and commissioned in the hospital for 15 beds, outpatient enterprise capable of taking a shift of about 1,000 patients, schools for 47,468 pupils, pre-school places for 1115, etc.
On the eve of the Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev said at a government meeting that in 2012, were built or renovated 268 schools, 62 kindergartens, 40 health facilities and 20 cultural sites. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
