Cabinet assesses the humanitarian assistance by MOE at 817,000 manat
The Cabinet reimbursed the Ministry for Emergency Situations for the cost of international humanitarian assistance in 2012.
The total amount of assistance from the government for transport costs was estimated in the amount of 817,000 manat.
In August last year in the Iranian province of Eastern Azerbaijan there was a devastating earthquake. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan sent to the disaster zone a caravan of 25 trucks. The help included 3,000 blankets, 1,000 sleeping kits, 460 tents, 40 tons of flour, 20 tons of rice, 9 tons of tea, 10 tons of sugar, 19 tons of oil, and 10 tons of pasta. In addition, for the victims there were sent juices, potable water Jala and other food products. Total aid was assessed in the amount of 566,745 manat.
Azerbaijan also sent humanitarian aid to flood victims in the Krasnodar region of Russia in July 2012. It included drinking water, juices and other necessary supplies. The car caravan consisted of 22 trucks. The Cabinet valued this aid at the amount of 250,230 manat. -0 -
