Iraqi gas could be transported to Europe via TANAP, says TANAP President
Iraqi gas could be transported to Europe via the Trans Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP), Turkish Star newspaper quoted Saltuk Duzyol, President of TANAP A.S. gas pipeline company, as saying.
He said the issue of Turkmen gas transportation via TANAP is under discussion.
Duzyol said earlier that over one third of TANAP was built in Turkey. He said welding has been completed on the 440-km-long section of TANAP.
He also said that the contracts have been signed to build the TANAP offshore section, which will pass through the Dardanelles bottom.
TANAP will export gas from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field from the Georgian-Turkish border to the western border of Turkey. Gas will reach Turkey in 2018 and after completion of TAP construction gas will be exported to Europe approximately in early 2020.
TANAP shareholders include SOCAR – 58%, Botas – 30% and BP – 12%.—0—
