Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to cooperate in plant protection
Baku/02.03.23/Turan: Members of the Senate of Kazakhstan at its plenary session on March 2 ratified an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of quarantine and plant protection. The document has been sent to the head of state for signature, Zakon.kz reports.
The main purpose of the law is to strengthen measures and cooperation to ensure phytosanitary safety when importing regulated products into the country.
A conclusion of the profile committee of the Senate said that because of the large volume of transportation of regulated products between the two countries there is a risk of penetration of quarantine objects, the spread of which negatively affects the phytosanitary state of the territory of both countries.
As a whole, the document is aimed at ensuring phytosanitary control required for the products transported, joint activities and interaction between the national plant quarantine services and has a positive impact on the export potential of Kazakhstan.
Note that the ratification of the agreement will not entail negative socio-economic and legal consequences, nor will it require additional allocation of funds from the national budget.-0-
