Kazakhstan has few qualified specialists in oil service field
The forum “Oil Service, Qualified Staff, New Technologies: Problems, Ways of Solution” took place in Aktau last week with participation of representatives of the associations, educational institutions, oil and gas service companies and Kazakhstan’s manufacturers.
Training of the qualified personnel in the oil and gas industry has been discussed at the forum.
“Kazakhstan has few qualified specialists with the significant experience of foreign technologies. Usually the Kazakhstan consortium implements big oil and gas projects, while foreign companies are in charge of the engineering. It is easier for the foreign residents to work with familiar equipment, but as this equipment costs more, than ours it affects the project cost. For instance, Tengizchevroil has been currently working on the project worth $23 billion and in the coming three years almost $200 billion will be invested into the fields located mainly in the Caspian Sea, majority of these funds will be spent to pay salaries,” said Almas Kudaybergen, chairman of the Kazakhstan Union of Service Companies.
He said there is no long-term forecast about the professions that will be needed in the oil and gas industry in the coming years, reported KAZINFORM.—0—
