Ministry of Agriculture takes action against locusts
On July 12 in the towns of the northern coast of Absheron and Sumgait is observed migration of the Asian locusts, according to phytosanitary control service of the Ministry of Agriculture. In this context, measures were taken to combat insect, which covered about 100 hectares. "It has been established that the insects migrated from the North Caucasus, from the mouth of the river Terek, and strong north wind helped it. The absence of farmland in this zone means that insects will not cause serious damage," said the Phytosanitary Control Service.
It is not reported what measures are taken against locusts. However, this zone is located the villa area and a large area where they grow vegetables and fruits. Therefore, the optimism of the Ministry of Agriculture about the minimum damage is clearly overstated. -03D-
