Ministry of Communications Preparing for IV Islamic Solidarity Games
The forthcoming IV Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Baku in 2017 and the surrounding area will be provided with uninterrupted telecommunications services, Internet and mobile communications.
The Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov signed the corresponding order on October 5. According to the document, the department set up the headquarters, the head of which is the First Deputy Minister Iltimas Mammadov.
Also, a working group including participants in the ICT market has been set up for the preparation of technical proposals to ensure the sustainable provision of telecommunication services and coordination issues arising from the order.
In addition, according to the order of the Minister, there is also a need to address issues related to the allocation of the necessary frequency resources and the preparation of technical proposals by consultants and other industry experts.
We recall the decision to hold the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in Azerbaijan were adopted during the vote held on 24 July 2013 at the VIII General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). --17D-

Discussions were held in Baku within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, focusing on the "Decarbonization and Climate Adaptation of the Cotton-to-Clothing Value Chain." Azerbaijan has attracted significant interest from companies in both developing and developed countries, as well as from state and private sector representatives of at least 10 nations, regarding participation as shareholders in the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF), which has a total budget of $1 billion.
