New Members of Multilateral Group on Implementation of Transparency Initiative
The Board of the Coalition for Transparency Initiative in Extractive Industries held a regular meeting.
On his profile on Facebook a Board member Akif Gurbanov noted that important decisions were taken at the meeting.
Gurbanov noted that in accordance with the ‘Regulation of activity of members of the multilateral group on implementation of Azerbaijan Transparency Initiative (EITI Azerbaijan)’ at the beginning of the year the Group members should be elected. By secret ballot, Gubad Ibadoglu, Ilgar Huseynli, Nasimi Mammadli, Ogtay Gyulalyev, Azer Rasul and Fuad Rasulov were elected as Group members.
“Now there is a question of work of the government with the new team. I hope the authorities will agree to the reality and will not obstruct the work of the staff elected by secret ballot. Otherwise, we need to understand what awaits us in March at a meeting of the Board of the International EITI,” he said.
Gurbanov said the meeting adopted an appeal to the head of the Board of EITI Frederick Rheinfelden, who will soon visit Azerbaijan.
In addition, at a meeting of the Board Ramin Hajili (European Movement), Rovshan Guliyev, Sadig Aliyev, Geray Aliyev and Mohammad Asadullazadeh were elected Coalition members by secret ballot. ------71D
