Number of Legal Migrant Workers Increases Significantly
For the year until November 1, the number of legal migrant workers in Azerbaijan increased by 19.7% or 5,493 units up to 33,355 people.
As stated in the press release of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, most of the migrant workers are men (88.3%), having individual account in the state social insurance system.
Registered in the Ministry are citizens of 120 countries in the world, where the leaders are Turkey, Georgia and Russia. In accordance with the number, they are followed by India, Iran, China, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Ukraine and the Philippines.
The process of attracting labor migrants to the contributions for compulsory social insurance started from January 1, 2006. --17D-

Azerbaijan has attracted significant interest from companies in both developing and developed countries, as well as from state and private sector representatives of at least 10 nations, regarding participation as shareholders in the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF), which has a total budget of $1 billion. The Azerbaijani government has proposed that the OPEC Fund participate in financing several renewable energy projects, including offshore wind energy development, green energy corridor initiatives, and a 1 GW project planned by SOCAR in partnership with the UAE-based company Masdar.
