Only One Bank Buys Foreign Currency from SOFAZ in Amount of $ 20 Million
Today the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) through an auction organized by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan sold $ 20 million.
According to SOFAZ, whereas every time it exhibited $ 100 million on sale, on April 13, it exhibited half the amount.
The auction was attended by only one bank, while in the past week there were 20 credit and financial institutions. Overall, for nearly two weeks SOFAZ sold $ 200 million.
The sale of foreign currency by SOFAZ is carried out in the framework of transfers to the state budget from the 7 billion 615 million AZN allocated this year.
By January 1, SOFAZ assets amounted to $ 33.57 billion (minus 9.5% to early 2015). --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
