Opening Ceremony of Four Seasons Hotel
Yesterday in Baku with participation of President Ilham Aliyev there was an inauguration of a new five star hotel - Four Seasons Hotel Baku. The hotel has 171 rooms, including 27 luxury rooms and two rooms for VIPs.
The rooms are furnished and decorated in a classic style and most of them offer a panoramic view of the Baku Bay.
The hotel's design is full of national elements. All the halls bear the names of Azerbaijani mughams (national music): a large hall for up to 500 people is named Segah and the others are Rast, Shur, Chahargah, Bayati-Shiraz, Humayun and Shushter.
Note that this hotel is built in the area adjacent to the Icheri Sheher - the historical center of Baku. During the construction of the hotel they demolished a number of architectural buildings, described as historic monuments. Concern about the damage of the historical reserve Icherisheher was expressed by local NGOs and even UNESCO. -06D-
