Outflow of Workforce from Public to Private Sector
The labor market in Azerbaijan in July did not record progress that was noted in June, when the number of employees suddenly jumped by 19,400 people.
According to State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijan's economy as of August 1 had 1,521,100 employees, as much as at the beginning of July this year.
However, there is movement of workforce from the public to the private sector. On August 1, the public sector employed 888,800 people, 1,100 people fewer than in the beginning of July. In the private sector the number of employees was 632,300, that is 1,100 more than a month before.
The State Statistics Committee reports that average monthly salary in Azerbaijan reached AZN 489.3 ($ 300), an increase over the six-month average by AZN 1.20. In August 2015 the average monthly salary in Azerbaijan was about $ 440. -08B
