President Aliyev Launches Industrial and Social Facilities in Nakhchivan

During a one-day visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on December 1, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a number of industrial facilities and social services, the website of the head of state reported.

In the village Khal Khal of the Babek district they opened the solar power plant of 20 MW, built by the Belgian company Soltech, which will cover about 5% of the electricity needs of autonomy.

They launched the Nakhchivan industrial complex area of ​​9 hectares that hosts 4 production plants for the production of gypsum plaster boards, lime and porous concrete, with an annual capacity of 150 thousand tons of porous concrete, 36 thousand tons of lime, 40 thousand tons of gypsum, and 2 million square meters of gypsum boards.

They put into operation the Nakhchivan intracity water network, construction of which began in May 2010. The project is built intracity water network length of 224,790 meters were installed counters to connect 21,207 homes. Along the network installed 905 fire-hydrants. Thus, the need of the population of the city of Nakhchivan in drinking water is 100 percent satisfied. It was noted that the successfully completed work on the reconstruction of the city sewer network is an important part of the project. The project carried out sewer lines length of 219,040 meters. This includes a network connecting 20,795 homes.

Aliyev got acquainted with the results of the reconstruction of the district road Shekerabad - Babek - Nehram - Arazkend with a length of about 16 kilometers, a width of 7.5 meters, as well as the East Terminal of the Nakhchivan International Airport. Modernization of the terminal will increase the airport’s passenger turnover more than twice and bring it from 150-200 people per hour to 400-450 people per hour.

On the same day the opening ceremony of the hospital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was conducted. In the 8-storey building with 300 beds the latest achievements in medicine are applied. There are 14 inpatient units: trauma, emergency medical care, general medicine, neurology, hematology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, endocrine diseases, urology, surgery, neurosurgery, intensive care and rehabilitation. The hospital has inpatient units of pulmonology, gastroenterology, dialysis, and emergency department, radiology department, laboratory, consultative-diagnostic polyclinic, the central blood bank, and the central laboratory for analytical examination of medicines.

Finally, they opened the children's music school No. 2 with an area of ​​2,540 square meters with 300 students. The school will teach the national and classical music in 4 offices in 7 specialties. -0-
