Production of passenger cars increased by 3.3 times
The government decision on the free provision of certain privileged categories of persons with cars stimulated the growth of production in the country. Since the beginning of the year there have been assembled 710 units of passenger cars, which is 3.3 times more than in January- April 2013.
The Nakhchivan Automobile Plant works on almost the state order. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MLSP), this year (as of 14th May) cars were given to 500 of the 675 disabled of the Karabakh war and the events of 20 January 1990, who stood in a queue for motor vehicles by the beginning of this year. In December 2013 the President allocated AZN 5 million from the state budget. The process will be completed by the end of this month.
And this year was given an order to ensure the full completion of the special vehicles for WWII invalids and persons equated to them (disabled in the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant) and 3.5 million manat was allocated. According to MLSP, there are more than 900 people.
The Nakhchivan Automobile Plant was built in 2008-2010. It assembles passenger cars produced by the corporation Chong Qing Lifan Industry (Group) Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd (PRC). The design capacity of the assembly allows up to 5 thousand cars a year. Only in 2013 assembly of 424 cars was carried out, which is 21.8% less than in 2012. The company employs 50 people. - 08B-

Tea imports to Azerbaijan have increased. According to the State Customs Committee, from January to November 2024, tea imports grew by 3.3% year-on-year to 12,893 tons in volume and by 4.5% in value, amounting to $67.715 million.
