WorleyParsons wins TANAP contract
Australia’s WorleyParsons has won a contract for the $11.7 billion Trans Anatolian natural gas pipeline project (TANAP) connecting Turkey and Greece.
The company was awarded a five-year engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the project.
Work will include project management, co-ordination, planning, design, engineering, construction management, contracting, procurement, project controls and other services for the pipeline and facilities.
The pipeline has been designed to move Caspian gas from the Georgia-Turkey border to the country’s western border with Greece.
It will take production from the BP Shah Deniz stage two project in Azerbaijan initially.
WorleyParsons did not disclose the value of the project but said fees for pipeline projects were “significantly lower than those for complex process projects”.
US company Bechtel and its local partner Enka are now nearing completion of a front-end engineering and design study for the pipeline.
ILF Engineering has since 2012 been acting as project management consultant to the TANAP consortium.
The TANAP partners are SOCAR on 68%, TPAO on 20% and BP on 12% - reported http://www.upstreamonline.com. –12D--
