Resumed Oil Production Platform on Chirag
The company BP-Azerbaijan has resumed production of oil on the platform of Chirag in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. This was told Turan by the head of the Department of Public Relations Tamam Bayatli.
According to her, after the completion of maintenance work on the program oil extraction was resumed on the platform since December 10. All technical work was successful and in compliance with safety regulations.
It should be noted that the work of the platform was suspended on 10 November.
Before stopping for maintenance works, the average daily oil production on the platform Chirag amounted to 45-48 thousand barrels.
* The platform Chirag in the ACG project was built in 1995-1997. Its base was built in the Soviet times. BP and the partners have built only its upper modules.

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
