Saved Well on Bulla Deniz Ready for Operation
On Friday, the operation for connecting to the product delivery system of the saved well on the offshore field Bulla Deniz in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was completed, Turan reported from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Thus, the oilmen will continue to ensure the supply of drilling and gas in the delivery system. According to experts, this is a rare event in the world, when the accident accompanied by strong fire was liquidated within two months and the well was put into operation.
Saving the well was carried out jointly by SOCAR experts and the American company BOOTS & COOTS.
Note that the fire on the exploration well number 90 on the Bulla Deniz field began on 17 August 2013. It was put out only in the evening on October 23 of this year. -12D

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
