SCS ignored a request for $ 250 million
Private placement of the bonds of a Mercury IInvestment and Holdings Ltd unknown to business people in Azerbaijan in the amount of $ 250 million left a lot of questions that they did not want to reply in the State Committee of Securities (SCS).
Turan appealed to the SCS with a written request of the issuer, interest rate and other aspects of the bond issue. Besides, it is not the only fact that the SCS issues registration of foreign companies in Azerbaijan: from August 2012 , the company announced its four emissions totaling $ 770 million, with all of the packages in advance. The securities were planned to sell to a famous investor , whose name was not disclosed.
No one knows who is the founder of Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd, or what projects it finances. In a WAN, you can only find information that this offshore company is registered in the British Isle of Man in 2005.
In one of the brokerage firms they told Turan that under the law , the amount of emissions can not exceed twice the size of the company's assets . In other words , the assets of Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd are no less than $ 385 million.
According to the SCS , in 2012, the placement of corporate bonds issued in U.S. dollars totaled $ 294.1 million, in 2013 - $ 67,075,500. The placement did not take place in the first quarter. - 08B-
