"Small" privatization slows
The State Property Committee (SPC) released information about the privatization of state assets in the first nine months of this year.
During the reporting period were privatized more than 530 small enterprises and facilities, non-residential premises, unfinished buildings, vehicles, etc. Note that for the comparable period in 2012 "small" privatization was attended by about 600 objects of privatization. In addition, in January- September this year there were sold about 510 plots of land (for 9 months of 2012 - 370) under privatized assets. At the auctions, sold were stakes in 30 joint-stock companies (9 months 2012 - 30 JSC).
SPC does not allow for the implementation of the privatization process of electronic services, including the filing of applications for participation in the auction. In Azerbaijan, privatization is virtually without contest and objects are sold at a starting price, which is set at a rate of several times lower than the market price.
SPC conceals information about government revenues from the privatization process, as well as the privatization of state property through investment tenders for the first nine months of this year. The head of the press service of SPC Gulu Khalilov told Turan that no information other than published on the official website will be provided.
As of 1 October 2013, the state register of immovable property included information on more than 150.6 thousand real estate assets used by 6,562 state-owned enterprises and organizations and by 7.6 thousand of their branches. Only in the first nine months of this year, the register was supplemented by information on 9,606 new properties. - 08D -
