SOCAR Enters Tender for Purchase of Gas Stations from OMV in Turkey
SOCAR has decided to take part in the tender for the purchase of a network of petrol stations in Turkey owned by the local "daughter" of the Austrian OMV (Petrol Ofisi).
SOCAR needs a filling station network to integrate it with the Star refinery, which the company builds in Izmir and plans to launch in 2018.
"SOCAR has submitted a corresponding application to participate in the tender for the purchase of the Austrian OMV filling stations network," said the head of SOCAR Investments Department Vaghif Aliyev.
Last summer, Petrol Ofisi, which includes a network of 1,800 filling stations, introduced SOCAR an information memorandum on the asset, after which it was decided to participate in the tender, said Aliyev. He did not disclose the details.
Last February OMV expected to close the deal within 1-1.5 years. -0-
