SOCAR head speaks at a meeting of the Atlantic Council of the USA
On 20-21 November the Summit of the US Atlantic Council took place in Istanbul summit. The event entitled "Energy and the Economy" was attended by US Vice President Joe Biden and Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu. SOCAR’s President Rovnag Abdullayev spoke at the conference "Energy security in the 21st century and its most important sources," the press service of SOCAR. The forum participants discussed the issues of security of energy sources and energy infrastructure, analyzed the impact of geopolitical factors on the production and transportation of oil and gas, the need to protect them from terrorist threats, local conflicts, development of joint action by the international community to ensure the smooth operation of energy infrastructure. -02D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
