SSC employees get knowledge in Poland to protect the rights of investors
The Polish Financial Supervision Agency organized training for employees of the State Committee for Securities of Azerbaijan on various aspects of the management of the relationship between investors in the securities market.
The press service of the State Committee for Securities told Turan that during the last week the SSC staff, as well as the National Depository Center and Baku Stock Exchange, visited the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Central Depository of Poland, and received the knowledge of the acquisitions (takeover bids), as well as compensation schemes and the protection of investors, or stock and depository operations.
Azerbaijan has prepared in accordance with European Union directives a bill on amendments to the Civil Code on the regulation of the absorption of joint stock companies and protection in this respect of the interests of minority shareholders. When this bill is to be adopted is unknown.
The twinning project implemented in Azerbaijan by the Financial Supervision Agency of Poland aims to unify the local institutional, legal and regulatory framework for the securities market with the EU standards, as well as to raise the awareness of the market participants. -08D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
