Starts the final meeting of the spring session of the Milli Mejlis
On June 27, parliament starts final (extraordinary) meeting of the spring session of Parliament. On the agenda there are 7 issues. Among these are changes in the law "On the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan." MPs will vote a second time for raising the salary of Elmira Suleymanova from 1,800 to 2,025 manats. Social, material and other provision of the Public Defender is guaranteed by article 16 of the law.
The agenda also includes the ratification of the treaty establishing the French Lyceum in Baku, the approval of the opening in Baku Embassy of Algeria, amendments to the Town Planning Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the law "On aquaculture." The village Niyazoba in Khachmaz is renamed into Niyazabad.
According to the regulations of the Milli Mejlis, the spring session of Parliament quits May 31. To convene an extraordinary session, the signatures of two thirds of the deputies must be collected. - 17D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance.
