Tajik President's visit to Azerbaijan: will there be economic activity?

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has responded to an information request from the Turan News Agency regarding the possibility of Azerbaijani beaches receiving the prestigious Blue Flag certificate. The request was reviewed by the State Environmental Safety Service, which provided updated information on the current situation and the measures taken.

According to the latest data from the State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijan's economic and social development indicators for January-May 2024 present a nuanced picture of the country's economic health. While the overall gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 3% from 49,580.8 million manats to 48,026.0 million manats, there are significant signs of growth in non-oil sectors, reflecting the country’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy.

According to operational data from the Ministry of Energy, Azerbaijan's electricity production for the first five months of 2024 reached 11,231.4 million kilowatt-hours (kWh).

During the World Aviation Summit and the 28th Annual General Meeting of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), a significant ceremony was held to release 5,000 sturgeon fry into the Caspian Sea. This event, which took place in Neftchala, is part of ongoing efforts to restore the endangered sturgeon population in the Caspian basin.
