Annual Caspian Technical Conference - 2018

The 10th Annual Caspian Technical Conference organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is set to take place in Baku from November 21 to 23. This prestigious event will assemble global industry leaders and technical experts to exchange insights, visions, and address the unique challenges and opportunities in the energy sector.

With the Caspian region's pivotal role in shaping the future of the global energy landscape, this year's conference, hosted by the state oil company SOCAR, will feature a high-level technical program curated by experts. It will include expert panel sessions focusing on key issues in the region, offering unprecedented access to oil and gas production experts and decision-makers. The current global energy climate will also be a prominent topic of discussion among investors, operators, service providers, and government agencies across the Caspian region.

The executive plenary session on the first day will delve into the heart of the global energy challenge—the Energy Trilemma. Esteemed keynote speakers, including Ali Al-Jarwan (CEO of Dragon Oil), Ismadi Ismail (CEO of Petronas Turkmenistan), Gary Jones (BP Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey), Emmanuel De-Guillebon (Managing Director and Country Chairman of TotalEnergies), and Asif Zeynalov (CEO of GL), will shed light on this critical issue.

The main program will feature high-quality technical content and dynamic discussions in various thematic areas, such as "Caspian Rising: Joint Solutions to the Energy Trilemma," "Maximizing Returns from Brown and Marginal Deposits," "Economic Considerations for the Energy Transition and Resource Integration," "Innovations in Earth Sciences," "Attracting and Retaining the Right Talent for the Digital Future," and "Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and the Future of the Oil and Gas Industry in a New Reality."

The event will also include three strategic panel sessions aimed at addressing pressing industry challenges and providing valuable insights into the sector's future. With 22 technical presentations and over 110 paper presentations on diverse topics, attendees will have ample opportunities to share knowledge in an open and constructive environment.

The Caspian Technical Conference SPE 2023 has garnered support from leading global industry players, including SOCAR, BP, Equinor, Schlumberger (SLB), TotalEnergies, Tengizchevroil, DeGolyer and MacNaughton, GL, EI Group, and Arlitech Technology Solutions.

Given the Caspian region's substantial influence on the global energy landscape, this event is expected to be a significant milestone in fostering dialogue on energy security, sustainability, and affordability.
