The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with beekeepers to discuss the development, breeding and marketing industries, and with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
Head of the Department of Livestock Development Agriculture Abdulaliev Ghalib told Turan, that the main problems are the organization of bee breeding, as well as packing and selling honey. The reason is that the beekeeping sector works alone and cannot offer wholesale trading companies large batch production. Therefore, it was decided to prepare a business plan to tackle these problems. The State undertakes to provide favorable medium-term (3 years) loans, said Ghalib Abdulaliev.
At present, a national standard for honey, which will be taken, possibly as early as this year. To prevent low-quality products, it was decided to tighten control over the quality of bee products. All products are available for sale subject to mandatory laboratory analysis in the Republican veterinary laboratory and its 12 zonal offices. Beekeepers also invited to cooperate more closely with hotels and restaurants.
In the Azerbaijan beekeeping is professionally engaged about 1,500 families. According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2014 the number of bee colonies in the country grew 238.300 to 243,000.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
