The State Committee of Statistics released data on foreign investments in Azerbaijan's economy in the first half of the year.
The total volume of foreign financial inflows totaled $ 7.3 billion (+ 38.3% compared to the same period last year). More than half (53.1% or $ 3.9 billion) was direct investments, 35.7% - portfolio investments, and 11.2% - in the form of financial loans. Most of the foreign direct investments ($ 3.3 billion) were in the oil and gas sector.
During this time, residents of Azerbaijani banks received loans in the amount of $ 815,500,000, approximately half of which (46.5%) are secured by a government guarantee. --17D-
