The State Railway Gained 6 Mln of Profit
In the first quarter of this year, the state-run CJSC Azerbaijani Railways repelled from freight and passenger traffic 54.8 million manat, of which 94% is the share of freight traffic.
The Chairman of the Board of the Railways Arif Asgarov told reporters that on the organization of traffic this year there was spent 48.9 million manat, and thus, the book profit of the company was 5.9 million manat.
The major cost (19 million or 38.8%) was sent to wages. Costs of electricity, fuel and water amounted to 10.1 million manat, and goods and materials - 12.4 million manat.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2012 JSC Azerbaijan Railways had earnings from freight traffic in excess of 186 million manat. Earnings from freight amounted to about 48 million manat. In connection with the reduction of passenger traffic, transportation became unprofitable.
In 2012, proceeds from the sale of tickets to passengers amounted to 15.7 million manat, and the costs of organizing shipments reached 50 million manat. - 08B-
